Cape of the Bear
From Greensward
This heavy fur cape is obviously made from a single bear hide. The leather is stiff and blotchy, the hair is a dark brown shot with grey, and the head and foreclaws are still attached.
Once donned, the cape moves fluidly and sways in ethereal breezes, never quite still. It functions as a Cloak of Protection +2 and if an attacker misses by only 1 the cape swipes the attacker (BAB +6, 1d4+2 slash).
When the wearer goes to sleep, he is bodily transported to a demi-plane where he is in a dark cave, naked and with no magic available. Once here he must escape the spirit of the cape, a terrible cave bear. If the bear kills the wearer, the horribly mauled body is transported back to his bed.
