Igneous Bracers

These bracers appear to be constructed of laminated strips of alternating grey and black stone. They are uncomfortably heavy, requiring STR 12 to wear without risk of exhaustion (DC10 Athletics per minute of strenuous activity). They impart Base AC 14 when worn.

The bracers detect as magic, evil, and diabolic.

When the wearer goes to sleep, their dreams are stalked by a ragged being of shadow. They must make a contested survival check to escape it each night. If the creature catches them, they wake up terrified and exhausted, gaining no benefit of rest. If they fail by 10 or more, the creature drains 1 point of INT. If they reach INT 0, they die and their soul is consumed and unrestorable by traditional Resurrection magics.

Remove Curse will allow the bracers to be removed but will not end the nightmares.
