Geography
The lands of Greensward encompass five major landmasses and four seas. The dominant civilized realm of human settlement is the continent of Sepental, but the influx of refugees from the greater world have increased our knowledge of distant lands in recent times.
Yrchlund
Yrchlund is reported to be the heart of the Orc Republic, a frightening concept for those of us familiar with the brutal but largely disorganized savages that we call Orcs. They are said to be a fragmented society far into its decline, preoccupied with fortified wine and bloodsport.
Scort
The Great Island of Scort, as its inhabitants refer to it, is almost completely lost to the Icewall. The Dwarves of Khar Dun have largely abandoned the surface, and a mass exodus of Dwarves who have come to Sepental have been turned away by both Khar Ban and Khar Effol. Now the Great Island is largely populated by Frost Giants and Ice Bears.
Sepental
Sepental is the home of the Imperium of old, but it has been a thousand years since the last Emperor fell and the Last Alliance has faded to myth for humans. The Elves will sometimes call a human "Ally" but it is now a sarcastic insult thrown at men behaving in a callow or base manner. The Elven island kingdom of Idenmoor is usually considered part of Sepental, though it is in all ways separate.
Kandeigen
Before the coming of the Icewall, the southern reaches of Kandeigen were full of green places and rumored to be a tropical paradise. The Orcs had abandoned it long ago to the Lizardmen and Dragonborn (the Orc tongue translates Kandeigen loosely as "place of bleeding orifices" due to the array of diseases incubating in the jungles and swamps). Now the Blackwall is entirely under the Icewall, Khar Moren has been lost to the ice, and the eastern reaches are expected to fall soon as well.
Fier Dahl
Fier Dahl has always struggled against the perpetual winter of the southern cap, and in fact the Icewall was just a normal landmark for the Dahlish people before it took on its more sinister presence. It is only through the industrious and pragmatic nature of the Dahlish and their close relationship with the Dwarves of Khar Deep that the eastern hold has been able to withstand the advance of the Icewall, but bonfires need fuel and the Ice is relentless.
